Celebrating AgilityEco’s success at the National Energy Efficiency Awards

In an evening which highlighted the fantastic work being carried out across the country, AgilityEco enjoyed success across multiple categories at the National Energy Efficiency Awards in Birmingham on Friday 18th February.

Shueb Ali and Lorraine Gumbs both received special commendations at the National Energy Efficiency Awards for their services in the energy efficiency industry.

Shueb Ali, AgilityEco’s Chief Commercial Officer, was awarded a special commendation in the National Business Development Director of the Year category. In the last year alone, he oversaw the installation of over 25,000 retrofit measures into more than 14,000 homes across Britain. Over £164 million in Lifetime Bill Savings has been made through these projects. Overall, in 2020/21, AgilityEco has calculated that the programmes Shueb has delivered have provided over £12 million in annual savings to fuel poor households.

Lorraine Gumbs, our Programme Development Manager, also received a special commendation in the National Energy Efficiency Champion of the Year category for her work supporting households with energy efficient measures. With over 25 years working in the industry, Lorraine has a wealth of experience working to deliver projects to help households become energy efficient and reduce their bills. Lorraine’s work leading delivery partners and home energy advisors in 2020/21 has contributed to over £7 million in lifetime bill savings, the installation of nearly 75,000 small energy saving measures and over 20,000 tonnes of lifetime CO2 emissions abated.

More success followed when AgilityEco’s Connected for Warmth programme was named Boiler & Heating Project of the Year, in recognition for its work helping households living in fuel poverty. During 2021, 782 households received a fully funded new central heating system and, where necessary, a free connection to the gas grid. In total this will generate annual bill savings of £791,000.

AgilityEco also finished third for Project Management Company of the Year. During 2020/21 the business installed 80,000 energy efficient measures through its programmes which in total achieved over £35 million in lifetime bill savings and abated over 61,000 tonnes of carbon. AgilityEco’s programmes continue to play a major role in eliminating fuel poverty, delivering better outcomes for low income and vulnerable families and preparing Britain’s homes for ‘Net Zero’.

AgilityEco’s partners Portsmouth City Council and JNR Contracting Ltd finished third in their respective categories, whilst Peabody also received a special commendation for National Housing Association/Landlord of the Year.
